Wow!! That is great what Oregon did back in 1923. I wonder what prompted them to actually make those laws at that time. Did other states have such laws then? Anyone know?
I believe mandatory education in America should be very limited, but I do agree with what Oregon did back in 1923. As our Founding Fathers said, paraphrasing from memory, ‘education of the people is a very important element in keeping a people free’.
I believe that it was back when the Bible was the main text in public schools, generally (& rightly!) recognized to be the Word of God and what all people need to look to as a STANDARD as to judge and ‘know right from wrong’, true or false, who God is, the Creator, a basis for Justice, make Laws, morality, etc.
I am 66 and was taught very little American history regarding our founding and our founding documents in school. I did learn Christian songs and Bible stories from 1st thru 3rd grades I never learned at home and I greatly appreciated learning them—including how the lad David brought down the GIANT Goliath, who had a vicious army behind him, not by his slingshot BUT BY HIS TRUSTING GOD!!.
The Bible says “For lack of knowledge My people are destroyed” (Hosea 4:6)
And Proverbs 29:2 “When the righteous are in the rule, the people rejoice; but when the ungodly are in authority, the people mourn.”
There are many reports that we are in the midst of a great awakening. God’s people (most of us) who are called by His Name repented from our sins and turned from our wicked ways long ago; and GOD IS HEALING OUR LAND!! HURRAY!!
No where in God’s Word does He require all who know Him to repent before He moves! Far from it!!
He wouldn’t have honored David going up against Goliath!! Everyone else was afraid!! (ie, NOT trusting God—maybe not many even very conscious of God at that time!)
Most people in America going the wrong way are the one or two generations who “lack knowledge” and thought ‘MAKE (loose) LOVE and NOT WAR’, Code Pink, Drugs, Occult, Sci-Fi, Satanism, was the way; at least to explore and experiment with until…. They have ‘not been taught!’
Many of us older Tea Party aged ones did have at least some light and have turned to God, studied the Bible, our country’s founding, and are being USED BY GOD GREATLY!!
And, through that, ‘GOD IS HEALING OUR LAND!!’
I heard David Barton and Kenneth Copeland talking about former Great Awakenings and how the people working with God (activists) helping to AWAKEN the PEOPLE, didn’t know they were in the midst of a great awakening until it was almost over or after it, when they looked back and saw the great thing that God had accomplished!
We are each one, and even all collectively, as the Lad David against the GIANT Goliath, with a vicious Army right behind him (1 Samuel 17:45)
The situation was HOPELESS, except for a MIRACLE from God!!
And, that is what young David knew, BUT he also knew he could rely on God for Miracle after Miracle, just as God also desires we live, daily looking to Him as our Provider in this era also.
A Supernatural people, as we walk with the TRUE GOD, will SHINE as LOVING LIGHTS in the cruel evil darkness in the world at this time; what actually is much of the devil’s (eg, Allah Akbar!) rule!!
The Bible says “In the year of famine, Isaac sowed (instead of following the other people who had to migrate to Egypt for a while until the cause of the famine (drought??) left.) and REAPED 100 FOLD!!
Because Isaac heard God and did what God instructed, he did not follow the people around him; people, who not knowing God, just naturally migrated away from the drought. Instead Isaac obeyed God and stayed, and not only survived, but outstandingly, miraculously, and apparent to all, THRIVED!!
What would have been starvation, instead, because of a miracle from the TRUE GOD, was instead plenty, even a flourishing garden!!
So lets do as Jesus said to His disciples, “Be of good cheer” as God keeps using us!
GOD IS getting our country back!
Back to OPERATING from its original FOUNDATION, which we still have; the Bill of Rights, Constitution, etc.
And, of course, the Bible!!“Do not grow weary, for in due season you shall (by God) reap!”
That reaping will include the “RIGHTEOUS being in authority!” (Proverbs 29:2) YES!! A MIRACLE!! By God, Goliath can and will come down!!
“Nothing is too difficult for the Lord!!” (Luke 1:37)We can look forward to:
“When the righteous are in authority, the people (even the criminals are better off!) REJOICE” (Proverbs 29:2)With Jesus’ Compassion 4 America! (& the world!!)

Those pushing for the so-called “convention of states” 1 say we must amend the Constitution because the people in Washington “don’t understand it”.
Rubbish!
Our Constitution is so simple that Alexander Hamilton expected us to be “enlightened enough to distinguish between a legal exercise and an illegal usurpation of authority”; and he said the people are “the natural guardians of the Constitution” (Federalist No. 16, next to last para).
Well then, if our Constitution is something The People are expected to know and enforce; is it plausible to assert that the Representatives we send to Washington – and even supreme Court Justices – are incapable of understanding it?
