Dear Fellow Patriot,
On September 14th, we will celebrate the two hundredth anniversary of our national anthem – The Star Spangled Banner.
Our anthem, written by Francis Scott Key, has inspired millions of Americans, bringing us together at moments of great crisis and uplifting us during national celebrations. It captures the spirit that gave us victory not only in the War of 1812, but on every battlefield we have faced since. We live in a world where evil arises to threaten the freedom and lives not only of Americans, but of people throughout the world. We have always faced and overcome these challenges to make the world a better place. From Ft. McHenry, to the beaches of Normandy, to the deserts and mountains of Afghanistan, America has been the world’s most powerful force for freedom.
As Francis Key wrote, "then conquer we must, when our cause it is just, and this be our motto – ‘In God is our trust.’"
STAND is encouraging you to join hundreds of churches across America for Star Spangled Sunday, September 14th. The fast paced, 90-minute event hosted by Family Research Council and Vision America will tell the providential story behind the Star Spangled Banner and challenge us to renew our spirit of patriotism. You will hear from:
